My Philosophy

An artist uses many colors to tell a story on the canvas. When that one dimensional fabric becomes a scene with depth and color, at once the story is no longer only his to tell... but the viewers as well.

Ivan Dixon and Bill Duke's Final Scene in 'Car Wash'

I've always liked this scene because of the the dialog, the music and acting. Ivan Dixon as Lonnie does an excellent job of playing the stronger, more experienced and worldly father figure to Adullah's naive, confused and misguided character.

It powerful because of the potential for the unexpected to occur.

Lonnie's "Uh shit..." as he takes the gun from Abdullah is perfect for his character and this scene.
